CSST, or Corrugated Stainless Steel Tubing, is utilized in homes across the country to deliver propane and natural gas. If lightning strikes on or near a structure with CSST, it can travel through the structure's gas piping system, resulting in a gas leak or a fire. These fires and the presence of propane or natural gas in the structure can pose unique risks and challenges to the fire response.

Join Lexipol for a discussion with Sara Laird and Celeste Flynn, who are using their husbands’ LODDs to create awareness and legislation to prevent future firefighter injuries and deaths due to CSST fires. Fire Chief Thomas Coe, Captain Craig Matthews, and Deputy Chief Billy Goldfeder join Sara and Celeste in this important conversation.

You’ll learn:

  • How to recognize a possible CSST fire and understand the risks associated
  • The dynamics of a CSST fire
  • Steps you can take to increase awareness about CSST-related fires
